Story
White Christmas tells the story of two showbiz buddies who put on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn and end up finding their perfect mates. The score features beloved songs "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," "Sisters," "How Deep is the Ocean" and the ageless title tune.
Should I See It?
What's White Christmas Like?
An all-new stage adaptation of Irving Berlin’s classic 1954 movie, White Christmas arrives on Broadway updated with extra Berlin songs (“Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean”) and several old-fashioned production numbers that feature a huge cast and a whole lot of tap dancing. Given how the story is more about friendship and love than the magic of the holiday season, the show may not seem very Christmas-y to some. But others will find its light-handed “tis the season” message to be a nice change of pace. Either way, the production definitely looks–and feels–a lot like Christmas.
Is White Christmas Good for Kids?
White Christmas qualifies as safe, if old-fashioned, Broadway entertainment for the whole family. In addition to Berlin’s ultra-catchy tunes, there is a lot to look at: colorful sets, elaborate song-and-dance sequences and a blanket of “snow” that covers the auditorium at curtain call.
